Herbert Lambert recently retired after a 33-year career at MTA, New York Transit.  In his last position of Chief Transportation Officer, Rapid Trasnit Operations, in the Department of Subways, Mr. Lambert oversaw the planning, directing and controlling of the dailer operation of the largest subway system in North America, ensuring its safe and efficient operation for a system that carries more than 5 million customers and provides 7 thousand train trips each day.  He was also responsible for a workforce of 7 thousand employees and managing an annual operating budget of $800 million.  Herbert Lambert has been a COMTO member since 1996.
